I live in Ohio. My house is a palace and for the money I paid you´d get a double-garage with a space heater in most parts of the country. The demographics here in the burbs around one of the three big cities are good. The elementary school my son will go to has between 30 and 40% Asians if this is of concern for you.
I had job offers to move to Seattle over the years. And declined them, even though the salaries there are great. The money I would need to earn though to live even remotely comparable to what I have here... completly unrealistic.
